Celebrate Spring At Cheekwood Botanical Gardens

Celebrate Spring at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens

With snow in the midwest this week and freezing temperatures up north, we are ready for spring and it seems like it may be ready to finally make an appearance. This week, Small Business Saturday is featuring Cheekwood Art & Gardens in Nashville, TN. We hope this encourages you to get out, enjoy the spring weather and see your own local botanical garden!;

Cheekwood Art & Gardens is a staple in Nashville and was started by one of the city's first entrepreneurial families. By selling their superior coffee blend to Postum (now General Foods), the family secured more than $40 million. WIth their newfound fortune, the family bought 100 acres of woodlands to build a country estate. The land transformed into extensive formal gardens and a limestone mansion, a masterpiece of beauty.

Today's estate sets on 55 acres and the museum is 30,000 square feet. Visitors should allow at least two hours to see everything in the gardens and museum. Every Tuesday and Saturday, Cheekwood has arts and crafts for children and runs a summer art camp for children ages 2-15. The beautiful grounds can also be rented for weddings.

Cheekwood Art & Gardens shows their appreciation to the greatest military in the world by offering a 50% discount for military personnel with a current ID.

There's no better way to ring in the new season (except for maybe a day at the ball park), than to see the blooms and colors of spring! Check out your local botanical gardens and be sure to let us know if they offer a military discount!
