2013 Discount Friendly State Scores

How did your state score?

MVDC created a comprehensive scoring model where we took into account state specific discounts (hunting and fishing licenses, vehicle licenses, property tax discounts and tuition waivers) and combined them civilian store discounts and veterans designations on the drivers license to come up with a total score.

The formula looks like this

Total Score= Education Discounts + Personal Property Tax Incentives + Vehicle Registration Discounts + Hunting & Fishing & State Parks + Veteran Designation on Drivers License + Discounts Per 1000 Military & Veterans

Disclaimer -MVDC wants its users to know that this is not a cost of living comparison between states but rather a view on how states go out of their way to take care of their veterans. For a breakdown of the methodology used to create the scores, please click here.
