Veterans: Contact the park about purchasing tickets at the discounted rate.

FREE regular admission ticket to any active or retired military personnel on Sunday and Monday of both the Memorial Day and July 4th weekends.

Along with free admission, active and retired members of the military will be able to purchase discounted admission tickets for members of their immediate family (maximum of six) at a special military discount price.

Any active duty, activated or drilling reservist, or National Guardsman is entitled to free admission under the Here's to the Heroes program. He or she need only register and submit his or her information or in the entrance plaza of participating parks, show a Department of Defense photo ID.

The Chicago Transit Authority has a free military service pass for active duty personnel and qualified disabled veterans that are traveling on trains and buses in the local area. Veterans must be rated disabled 10% or greater. You must visit an authorized CTA center to get a season pass.

Active members of the military can receive one free ticket, based on availability, at the U.S. Cellular Field Box Office on the day of the game by presenting their I.D. This offer excludes Opening Day, Cubs series and premium games. We hear that White Sox games rarely sell out, except for Opening Day and Cubs games.

The CNN center offers 55-minute guided walking tours that depart approximately every 10 minutes. The CNN Center is open to the public and entrance to the building is free. The public area includes a food court with fast food and full-service restaurants, specialty retail and other services.

Reservations for the tour are highly recommended and should be made at least 24 hours in advance. Walk-up tickets are available at the box office and are sold on a first come, first served basis. Box office opens 15 minutes prior to the first tour.

Free admission Memorial Day Weekend

Located in the heart of Phoenix, the Desert Botanical Garden is splendid family retreat. Active members can witness the bloom of the desert at no cost. One of the better military discounts if you are visiting the Phoenix area.

Free SAT and ACT prep courses provided by eKnowledge Corporation for active duty, veterans and retirees. Several foundations have come together to provide the prep CDs at no cost. This normally retails for $199.00.
